Why "Midnight Mothers"?
Updated: Oct 22

Hi! Thank you for coming to visit. Pull up your chair, get cozy with your tea or coffee and let's catch up! My name is Annaleise. I am 29 years old (about to be 30 in just under one month now!) and currently live in Wisconsin with my husband Michael and our baby boy, Sonny. I think the "mothers" part is pretty obvious with that context. I'm a new mom, duh! So, why "midnight?" Well, I've always been a night person. I love nighttime. The quiet, the solitude. It's often been a time of focus and creativity for me. Recently, after Sonny's birth, I have become reacquainted with my midnights. Whether that is nightly feedings, catching up on art projects, or finally getting some alone time to sit and watch tv and eat ice cream, I find myself exploring these first months of my new motherhood under the moon and stars.
I don't think I'm alone in that! So, as I try to navigate my way through this new chapter of my life and reconnect with some of my old passions as well as push into a better future, I would like to invite you to join me... Maybe together, we can create a space filled with nuanced discussions in a world that seems bent on keeping things black and white... Maybe together, we can inspire each other's art and creativity... And maybe it's the midnights, or maybe I've just always been a romantic, but just maybe, we can work together to make some real magic happen. After all, we are mother's, it's what we seem to do.
With that, why don't you get into your pajamas, make yourself a drink (or some ice cream), find the comfiest place in the house, and I'll meet you there at midnight.
